Illumination in Two Movements

April 2-May 7, 2006 (Extended by Popular Demand)

"What distinguishes the memory of a real life experience from a dream, is the proof that it happened. If we can't prove the reality of it, then the memory is just as good as a dream. Photographs document the proof, and eternalize the experience. Observing my surroundings is my second nature where my instinct and subconscious are the drive behind my images. In the process moments are captured that otherwise would have varnished unnoticed." Naveed Nour

Illumination in two Movements” is my symphony of people harmonizing with humanity and existence. The first Movement depicts my observations during the Iran/Iraq war in the 1980's. The second Movement is a series of images photographed in Paris in 2005. Paris has rejuvenated my long missing sense of creativity. It has given me the motivation to rediscover the past. Furthermore, for the first time the past can be exhibited together with the present.
